Alan Cooper is the owner and principal of Alan Cooper Architect, PLLC.  He has enjoyed the practice of residential and commercial architecture on the North Shore of Long Island and surrounding areas for over 30 years. The personal attention he gives each project has earned him a reputation for producing creative and aesthetically pleasing designs that exceed the expectations of the client and the community.

Alan’s versatile architectural designs infuse clients’ preferences into his program vision.  After nearly 2,000 projects, Alan has strong relationships with many contractors and suppliers, and is an expert in securing permits and adapting to building codes and conditions. He believes that every project should be a positive experience; the architect, the client and the contractor working together as a team to transform the clients’ needs and dreams into reality.

In addition to his professional experience, Alan draws inspiration from his education at the Pratt Institute in New York and the American Academy in Rome, Italy, as well as from extensive travel across Europe and the Americas. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and the firm’s work has been published in periodicals including the New York Times, Newsday, House, Home, and Distinction.
